We think walking is one of the best ways to explore a new city, and Paris is a perfect example of a walkable city! Around nearly every corner, there is something beautiful to admire. We spent a full two days hitting many of the main sights, as well as admiring the views on the streets along the way. f you are looking for a good two-day walking plan, check out our photo tour of our walking paths below!

Day 1 in Paris
- Main attractions visited: The Louvre, Arc de Triomphe & The Eiffel Tower.
- Miles walked: 7.1 (approximately)
- Start Point: Hotel Le Royal in Montparnasse
- End Point: Hotel Le Royal in Montparnasse
We wanted to go big on our first day, seeing as much as we could! We started with an attempt to visit the Luxembourg Gardens, but it was closed. So, we made our way through the Latin Quarter, stopping at Place Saint-Sulpice, and out to the River Seine and The Louvre.
We grabbed a snack at Angelina (some macarons and hot chocolate) to keep us going, and on we went, down the Champs Elysees to the Arc de Triomphe.
After the Arc, we couldn’t resist making our way to the Eiffel Tower, one of the most iconic destinations in the world! We saw some beautiful buildings along the way (like the Hotel Baltimore), before stopping at The Trocadero for some awesome pics of the Eiffel Tower.
On our long trek back to the hotel, we stopped for happy hour at Le Suffren for some seafood and caipirinhas – because who can resist a proper happy hour?
And of course, we ended our day with an amazing dinner at Le Bistro des Campagnes!
Day 2 in Paris
- Main attractions visited: Notre Dame & Sacre Coeur
- Miles walked: 5.5 (approximately) (with half of it being uphill!)
- Start Point: Hotel Le Royal in Montparnasse
- End Point: Pigalle Station in Montmartre (We then took a taxi to the Eiffel Tower for our second visit, and then another back to our hotel. We had to give our feet a break!)
We started day two in Paris by grabbing a snack to go from a little patisserie to fuel us up for our day of walking! There are no rules as to whether your snack has to be sweet or savory, but we opted for the savory. These beautiful sweets sure were hard to resist though!
We tried to make it to the Luxembourg Gardens again, but it was still closed. So, on we went to Notre Dame!
By this time, we worked up a little appetite, so we crossed the river and went into the Marais neighborhood for a little falafel action! The streets in the Marais are so beautiful, I highly recommend a visit there.
We then had the ambitious thought to walk to Montmartre. FYI, this walk entails going uphill so be prepared to sweat a little! You might need a beer break (or two) along the way, like we did!
We ended the walking portion of our day at Sacre Coeur and we were beat! But the views of Paris from here are pretty cool. It’s well worth the visit.
After two full days of walking, we ended our time in Paris with French wine and a delicious dinner at Moustache back near our hotel.
